The Orinda Host Family is an essential ingredient to the success of our Visiting Student program. Our members are constantly hunting for families willing to host a Tabor visiting student.  It's been a quite rewarding experience for both the student and host family as they both get to know each other's cultures and education systems. 

The Host provides:

• A bed and desk.

• Available bathroom and study area.

• The availability of 3 meals per day.

• All living expenses.

• Help enrich the teens' experience in California by taking them on excursions e.g, Yosemite,  Monterey Bay Aquarium, Muir Woods. 

• Trip cost reimbursement to be made by the Orinda Sister City Foundation. 

• Provide logistical support to/from school and friends' houses.

• Support their integration into Miramonte by helping them join e.g., Cheerleading, Tennis, Choir, Volleyball, etc. 

• Ideally, together with another current Miramonte student.

The Student provides:

• Funds for extracurricular activity and social events.

• Medical Insurance.

•  Usually, a personal computer.

Tabor visiting students become members of the Host Family and often join in family vacations, trips, celebrations, etc. They do not smoke, drive or partake in liquor or drugs.
